David Weeks

David Weeks studied painting and sculpture at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he earned a BFA in 1990. Weeks worked in the studio of jeweler Ted Muehling before founding David Weeks Studio in 1996. David designs products such as lighting, furniture, home acces- sories and toys. Weeks’s designs have been used in projects at Lincoln Center, Barneys, Saks Fifth Avenue and W Hotels. Winner of multiple awards and honors, Weeks most recently was nominated for the Designpreis Deutschland 2010, Germany’s highest design award. He received the Good Design Award in 2008 for his Sculpt furniture & Sarus lighting collection. He’s been a judge for ID Magazine’s Annual Design Review, and was one of seven designers chosen to represent New York at Berlin’s 7+7. Weeks won Editor Awards at the 1999 and 2001 International Contemporary Furniture Fair.
