Marc Thorpe

Marc Thorpe, born in 1978. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design from the University of Maryland, followed in 2004 by a Masters Degree in Architecture, with Honors, from Parsons School of Design in New York. In 2005, Thorpe established New York-based Marc Thorpe Design, as an architectural and design cooperative, active in the creation of progressive design solutions for the commercial, residential and leisure sectors. The studio positions itself in reaction to aesthetic trend and formal superficiality. Instead, the intention of our work is focused on fundamental principles of functionality, integrity and clarity. We concentrate these principles on designing new architectural strategies of flexibility, hybrid programming and spatial performance. Marc Thorpe Design stands for a design ethic of agency and optimism.
